The versatility of the ioX-Connect® LoRaWAN Air Quality Sensor makes it an ideal solution for a diverse range of indoor environments. Each application leverages the sensor's core capabilities to address specific industry challenges and unlock unique value.

Smart Offices & Corporate Buildings

In the modern corporate environment, employee well-being and productivity are paramount. The primary challenges are maintaining a healthy and cognitively stimulating atmosphere while managing the significant energy costs associated with large office spaces. Poor air quality, particularly high , is directly linked to reduced concentration, increased fatigue, and lower productivity. The ioX-Connect® sensor provides the data needed to create an environment where teams can thrive. By integrating sensor data with the building's HVAC system, facility managers can implement a DCV strategy that not only slashes energy bills but also ensures optimal ventilation in occupied areas like conference rooms and open-plan offices. This data-driven approach transforms the workplace into a healthier, more efficient, and more productive asset.

Educational Institutions (K-12 & Universities)

The quality of air in a classroom has a direct and measurable impact on student learning and health. Studies have shown that poor IAQ is linked to decreased student concentration, cognitive impairment, and higher rates of absenteeism. Many school buildings, particularly older ones, suffer from inadequate ventilation, leading to levels that can far exceed recommended thresholds. The ioX-Connect® sensor provides educational administrators with the tools to address this critical issue. By monitoring air quality in classrooms, libraries, and auditoriums, schools can ensure they meet ventilation guidelines, such as those recommended by the Washington State Department of Health, which aim to keep levels below 800-1000 ppm. This helps improve student focus, can reduce the transmission of airborne illnesses, and creates a safer, more effective learning environment for both students and staff. Furthermore, it provides the data needed to comply with emerging state-level IAQ mandates for schools.

Healthcare Facilities & Hospitals

In healthcare settings, air quality is a non-negotiable component of patient safety and infection control. Hospitals and clinics present a uniquely challenging environment with a high density of vulnerable individuals and the presence of complex airborne contaminants. The ioX-Connect® sensor delivers the continuous, reliable, and highly accurate monitoring required in these critical spaces. It helps facility managers ensure that ventilation systems are performing to standard, which is essential for protecting immunocompromised patients, controlling the spread of airborne pathogens, and meeting stringent regulatory guidelines like the ASHE Standard 170. The sensor's offline data logging and pressure-compensated NDIR accuracy are particularly vital in healthcare, where data integrity and reliability are paramount for compliance and patient care.

Public Venues, Hospitality & Retail

For businesses in the hospitality, retail, and public venue sectors, the customer experience is everything. The ambient environment plays a subtle but powerful role in shaping this experience. A space that feels stuffy, warm, or uncomfortable can lead to negative perceptions and shorter visits. The ioX-Connect® sensor helps managers of hotels, shopping malls, theaters, and restaurants proactively manage the air quality in high-traffic areas. By ensuring adequate ventilation and comfortable temperature and humidity levels, businesses can create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages patrons to stay longer, enhances their overall satisfaction, and builds a reputation for prioritizing customer comfort and safety.

No. The smart valve does not detect leaks on its own. To enable automatic shut-off, it must be paired with an ioX-Connect LoRaWAN water leak sensor. In the ioX-Connect platform, you can create rules (e.g., “If leak detected, then close valve”) to trigger shut-off.

The valve is designed for 7+ years of autonomous operation* using a single 3.6V Li-battery, depending on reporting intervals and valve usage.

*Battery life will depend on and can be affected by device usage. As with any battery powered device, excessive usage specifically the opening and closing of the solenoid valve could reduce battery life significantly. Please consult us for more details.

Yes. You can remotely open or close the valve at any time through the ioX-Connect platform, in addition to automated rules tied to leak detection.

It takes approximately 16 seconds for the valve to fully open or close.

Yes. With a PN50 pressure rating and the ability to handle fluid temperatures up to 240°C (450°F), it is built for both commercial and industrial applications. However it is not recommended for use with corrosive liquids.

Yes. The valve supports multiple frequency bands including EU868, US915, AS923, and IN865, ensuring global compatibility.

The valve will continue operating based on its last configuration. Once the network connection is restored, it will automatically sync with the ioX-Connect platform.
