LoRaWAN Distance & Ranging Sensors
Non-Contact Distance & Level Monitoring Without Manual Inspections
Whether you need to track liquid levels in a tank, measure fill heights in a silo, or detect object distance across an open area, our LoRaWAN distance and ranging sensors give you accurate, real-time data without physical contact with the target. Choose from ultrasonic time-of-flight sensors for short-to-medium range applications or 80 GHz FMCW radar sensors for high-precision industrial measurement—both connect wirelessly to the ioX-Connect platform over LoRaWAN.
Every sensor in this category transmits distance readings directly to your ioX-Connect dashboard, where you can set threshold alerts, view historical trends, and integrate with your existing workflows. No cellular data fees. No wired infrastructure. Battery-powered sensors that report autonomously for up to 10 years before replacement.

Why Choose ioX-Connect LoRaWAN Ultrasonic Ranging Sensors?
ioX-Connect LoRaWAN ranging sensors are purpose-built for environments where non-contact measurement, reliability, and long-range connectivity are critical. By combining industrial ultrasonic and radar sensing with LoRaWAN technology, these devices provide accurate distance data across large sites and remote locations—without complex infrastructure.
Whether monitoring liquid levels, material heights, or physical clearance, ioX-Connect ranging sensors help teams reduce manual inspections, detect issues early, and improve operational visibility.
How It Works
- Wireless Sensors
Ultrasonic/ Radar Distance sensors measure distance by emitting sound pulses or radar and calculating return time from target surfaces. - Wireless Gateway
LoRaWAN gateways relay sensor data securely over long distances. - Online Monitoring & Alerts
Access real-time distance data, trends, and alerts through online monitoring dashboards.

Non-Contact Measurement
Ultrasonic and radar technologies measure distance without touching the target—no moving parts, no wear, no contamination risk.
Long-Range Coverage
Low Maintenance
Deploy once and collect data for up to 10 years before replacing batteries.
Plug-and-Play Integration
Every sensor auto-provisions on the ioX-Connect platform. No coding. No custom integration. Data flows to your dashboard shortly after power-on.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our LoRaWAN Distance & Ranging Sensors
Please reach out to us at: sales@iox-connect.com if you have any additional questions that are not addressed below.
Ultrasonic sensors emit sound waves and measure the echo return time to calculate distance. They work well in clean, stable environments at ranges up to about 4.5 m. Radar sensors (like our MRD-Series) use 80 GHz FMCW radio waves, which penetrate dust, steam, and condensation, making them suitable for harsh industrial environments and ranges up to 25 m.
For small-to-medium tanks (under 4.5 m depth) with clean conditions, the ULR-Series ultrasonic sensors offer excellent accuracy at a lower price point. For deep tanks, silos, or environments with
The ULR-Series ultrasonic sensors achieve ±1% of full-scale accuracy. The MRD-Series microwave radar sensor achieves ±20 mm accuracy across its full measurement range.
Yes. Both sensor families are designed for outdoor deployment. Check individual product pages for specific IP ratings and operating temperature ranges.
Accuracy depends on the model and range, but typical accuracy is around ±1% of full scale.
All sensors transmit data to your ioX-Connect dashboard via LoRaWAN. You can view real-time readings, set threshold alerts, and access historical data from any browser or mobile device.
The dead zone (or blind zone) is the minimum distance between the sensor face and the closest measurable point. Objects within the dead zone cannot be detected. Each product page lists the specific dead zone for that sensor model.
Yes. Every LoRaWAN sensor requires at least one LoRaWAN gateway within range to relay data to the ioX-Connect cloud. Our Ethernet Gateway supports 1,000+ devices.
LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide Area Network) is a low-power wireless protocol designed for IoT. It operates at 915 MHz in the US, delivers range up to 10 km, and enables sensors to run on batteries for years—all without cellular data fees.
In typical deployments, LoRaWAN sensors communicate up to 3 km in urban areas and up to 10 km or more in open rural environments, depending on antenna height and obstacles.
Yes. LoRaWAN uses AES-128 encryption with unique device keys. Data is encrypted end-to-end from the sensor to the ioX-Connect platform.
A single ioX-Connect LoRaWAN gateway can support over 1,000 sensors, depending on the reporting interval and network configuration.
