Key Features of ioX-Connect LoRaWAN Smart Valves
Automated Leak Response: ioX-Connect LoRaWAN Smart Valves close automatically when paired water leak sensors detect moisture. Automated response rules configured in ioX-Pulse eliminate manual intervention and reduce the time between leak detection and water shut-off from hours to seconds.
Long-Range LoRaWAN Connectivity: Both valve models use LoRaWAN technology to communicate reliably over long distances with excellent building penetration. This enables remote valve control across large campuses, multi-building sites, and remote installations without wired infrastructure.
Industrial-Grade Construction: Built with stainless steel valve bodies (SS304/SS316), FKM and PTFE seals, and IP67-rated actuator housings. These valves are engineered for years of reliable operation in demanding commercial and industrial water systems.
Battery-Powered, Zero Hardwiring: Both models operate entirely on battery power, eliminating the need for electrical conduit, dedicated power circuits, or electrician labor. Deploy on any water supply line within LoRaWAN range.
Remote Control from Anywhere: Open or close any valve directly from the ioX-Connect dashboard — whether you’re on-site, across town, or managing multiple facilities from a single platform. Manual remote control is always available alongside automated rules.
Pre-Provisioned for ioX-Connect: Smart Valves arrive pre-keyed for the ioX-Connect platform. Power on, and the device appears in your dashboard automatically — no manual provisioning, network server setup, or device registration required.
Manual Override for Maintenance: Every valve includes a manual override mechanism, allowing physical open/close operation during maintenance, battery replacement, or in the event of a communication issue. Position indicators confirm valve status at a glance.
Scalable Fleet Management: Add valves to your existing LoRaWAN sensor network with negligible impact on gateway capacity. Scale from a single valve to hundreds across multiple sites, all managed from one platform.

Building-Wide Water Leak Protection
Install a Smart Valve on the main water supply line and deploy ioX-Connect water leak sensors across floors, mechanical rooms, and critical zones. When any sensor detects water, ioX-Pulse triggers the valve to close automatically — stopping flow to the entire building before damage spreads.
Multi-Site Property Management
Property managers overseeing multiple buildings can deploy Smart Valves across their entire portfolio and monitor valve status from a single ioX-Connect dashboard. Each building gets automated leak protection without requiring on-site staff for every incident.
Unoccupied Buildings and Vacation Rentals
Empty properties are especially vulnerable to undetected water leaks. A burst pipe in a vacant building can run for days. Smart Valves paired with leak sensors provide automated shut-off that protects the property whether anyone is there or not.
Mechanical Rooms and Critical Infrastructure
Boiler rooms, chiller plants, and HVAC mechanical spaces contain equipment and piping that can leak without warning. Deploying Smart Valves on supply lines to these areas, combined with leak sensors at critical points, creates an automated isolation system that protects high-value equipment.
Remote Water Supply and Tank Control
For facilities with remote water tanks or supply lines that are difficult to reach quickly, Smart Valves enable remote open/close control without dispatching a technician. LoRaWAN’s long range (up to 10 km line-of-sight) makes it viable for campus-scale and rural installations.
Commercial Water Management
Hotels, office buildings, hospitals, and retail facilities can integrate Smart Valves into their water infrastructure to reduce insurance exposure, minimize water damage remediation costs, and meet building management compliance requirements.
Industrial Process Isolation
Isolate water supply lines to specific zones, equipment, or production areas in response to sensor alerts or scheduled maintenance. Remote control eliminates the need for manual valve operation in hard-to-reach or hazardous locations.
Why Choose ioX-Connect LoRaWAN Smart Valves?
ioX-Connect LoRaWAN Smart Valves are engineered to deliver automated water protection and remote flow control for commercial, industrial, and multi-site environments. Designed for real-world operational conditions, these valves combine industrial-grade construction with battery-powered wireless connectivity — enabling scalable water management without the complexity of hardwired systems or manual intervention.
From protecting a single building against water leaks to managing valve fleets across hundreds of facilities, ioX-Connect Smart Valves provide the reliability, automation, and platform integration required to turn reactive water management into proactive protection.
HOW IT WORKS
Step 1: Deploy Smart Valves on Water Supply Lines: Install battery-powered Smart Valves on the water supply lines you want to protect or control remotely. No hardwiring or electrical infrastructure required.
Step 2: Pair with Water Leak Sensors: Deploy ioX-Connect water leak sensors at critical locations — under equipment, along pipes, in mechanical rooms, on each floor. Sensors and valves communicate through the same LoRaWAN gateway network.
Step 3: Configure Automated Rules in ioX-Pulse: Set up automated response rules in the ioX-Pulse platform: when a leak sensor triggers, the platform sends a downlink command to the Smart Valve to close automatically.
Step 4: Monitor, Control, and Respond from ioX-Connect: View real-time valve status, send manual open/close commands, receive alerts, and review event history — all from the ioX-Connect dashboard, from anywhere.

Automated Leak Protection, Zero Manual Response
Smart Valves close automatically when leak sensors detect water — eliminating hours-long manual response times and protecting your facility 24/7, including after hours, weekends, and holidays.
Battery-Powered, No Hardwiring Required
Both valve models operate entirely on batteries. Deploy on any water supply line within LoRaWAN range without running electrical conduit, hiring electricians, or disrupting existing infrastructure.
Industrial-Grade Durability
Stainless steel construction, IP67 protection, and rated for tens of thousands of operations. Built for years of reliable service in commercial and industrial water environments.
Unified Platform Visibility
Monitor all valves, leak sensors, and alerts from a single ioX-Connect dashboard. Centralized management across buildings, sites, and regions - no switching between tools or platforms.

ioX-Connect offers two LoRaWAN smart valve models: the Wireless Smart Valve (a Class C device with frequency hopping and larger size options up to DN100) and the Motorized Smart Valve (a Class A device with ≤7-second actuation, IP67 protection, and stainless steel construction in sizes DN8–DN25). Both are designed for automated water shut-off and remote control through the ioX-Connect platform.
The Wireless Smart Valve uses LoRaWAN Class A communication with a 3.6V lithium battery (5–7+ year life), supports larger pipe sizes (up to DN100), and actuates in ~16 seconds. The Motorized Smart Valve uses Class A communication with 2× AA lithium batteries, has a manual override switch, actuates in ≤7 seconds, features IP67-rated housing, and is available in DN8–DN25 sizes. The Motorized Smart Valve is rated for water systems only; the Wireless Smart Valve supports broader applications.
Yes. Both Smart Valve models integrate with ioX-Connect water leak sensors through the ioX-Pulse rules engine. When a leak sensor detects water, ioX-Pulse automatically sends a downlink command to close the valve - no manual intervention or custom scripting required.
Yes. All ioX-Connect LoRaWAN Smart Valves require a LoRaWAN gateway and an active ioX-Connect software subscription. We recommend our pre-provisioned LoRaWAN gateways, which arrive fully configured for the platform.
Yes. You can send open/close commands directly from the ioX-Connect dashboard at any time. Automated leak response is an additional capability when paired with water leak sensors and ioX-Pulse rules, but manual remote control is always available.
The Wireless Smart Valve is available in brass/SS304 from DN15 to DN25 (with sizes up to DN100 available). The Motorized Smart Valve comes in DN8 through DN25 (1/4" to 1") with internal BSP or NPT threaded connections.
The Motorized Smart Valve is rated for water systems only - do not install on gas, oil, or other non-water lines. Check the Wireless Smart Valve specifications for its rated applications.
